Buying a home is a major piece of your life’s puzzle. I’m Shane Koenig, Ent Mortgage Loan Officer, father, and lifelong learner. I’m here to help Colorado families get answers, find the right resources, and feel confident as you navigate the unknowns of making a house your home.
But it’s often not. It’s stressful, confusing, and full of unknowns. You hope to find the right home, lock in the right rate, and work with someone you can actually trust, but hoping shouldn’t be your strategy. You deserve a mortgage experience that feels clear, calm, and empowering.
Hi, I’m Shane Koenig of Shane CO Mortgage, licensed mortgage loan officer for Ent Credit Union for over 15 years. My philosophy for life is this: honesty & integrity — always. I love what I do, and I love seeing people finally achieve their dream of home ownership.
I’ve lived in Colorado on and off for more than 20 years. I met my beautiful wife, Jaime, here, and we’re raising our two incredible daughters and two rescue pitbulls in Littleton. While I can’t promise you won’t be stressed, I can promise you’ll have a trusted guide who listens, explains every step clearly, and works hard so you have all the information you need to make your dream home a reality.
When I’m not in the office, you can find me:

You can feel confident in your homebuying journey with classes led by a licensed mortgage loan officer who’s closed over $55 million in loans. Whether you’re buying your first home or refinancing your current one, these sessions break down the mortgage process in a way that finally makes sense.
We can figure that out together. With so many loan options available, choosing the right one can feel overwhelming. Shane is here to listen, understand your unique needs, and offer expert guidance — like the final piece in your homebuying puzzle. Sometimes all you need is someone to explain things clearly and point you in the right direction.
It depends on the type of loan you’re applying for. Most conventional loans require a minimum score of 620. FHA loans may accept scores as low as 500, depending on other qualifying factors. If you’re aiming for a low-interest rate, a higher credit score and a solid down payment will give you the best chance.
It depends on the loan program. Some loans require as little as 3% down, while others (like VA loans) may offer 0% down options if you qualify. A high down payment isn’t always necessary — but the more you put down, the lower your monthly payment may be.
On average, about 30 to 45 days. Some loans can close faster, while others may take a bit longer. Pre-approval usually comes back within 24–48 hours. The appraisal and underwriting process tend to take a few weeks.
Having a lender who communicates clearly and keeps things moving can make a big difference in how smooth the process feels.
Ask your questions, share your goals, and get clarity on your options.
Understand which loan types fit your situation and what you might qualify for.
Whether you’re ready to apply or still learning, Shane will be here to guide you.
